I'm Danielle. I have a Master's in Linguistics and a BA in Spanish and English. I taught Spanish for eight years at a Big Ten university, and I've tutored and taught private lessons ever since. I now live in Torrance, California, and I work with students from around the South Bay.
As an undergraduate, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, and I am considered a near-native speaker of Spanish. While in Spain, I earned the Instituto Cervantes' "DESE," the Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera, Nivel Superior (the highest level of second language proficiency diploma offered by the national institute).
Alongside my studies, I also volunteered with the Hispanic community center in my hometown, interpreting for clients at dentist visits, translating publicity materials for the community, and helping out with administrative tasks.
Later, as a graduate student studying linguistics, I specialized in Spanish language learning and the difficulties non-native learners experience while listening to spoken Spanish.
Whether you're an advanced learner or a day-one beginner I have the experience and skill to help you meet your Spanish language learning goals!
